4Ground - Saxon Village

Another terrain project, this time the Saxon Village from 4Ground.

This lovely two-piece set has two simple buildings, coming a a pre-painted MDF kit.   These two small, one-rom buildings come with a faux-fur piece of fabric to simulate a thatched roof, an idea that I came across years ago and always thought was a great idea.

Once again, I purchased this kit from Badger Games.  It's nice to have a US distributor and not have to wait so long for products made in the UK.

The shipping packaging is nice, helping to protect the MDF sprues from any potential damage in transport. And again, I like the detailed step-by-step instructions it comes with for easy assembly.

Once again, I sat down after work to do some building, putting this kit together in about an hour and half or so. As the structures were rather plane and straight forward, this set was pretty simple to put together.

Again, sorry for no in-progress photos, but here's the completed product.

The doors are fit into the frames, but move easily to open/close.

Another great kit that looks great on the table.  These pre-painted buildings are affordable and save loads of time, and look better than the old scratch-built homemade ones I used to make all those years ago.

My only complaint with this kit is the design of the doors. While the remain unglued and have a basic open-close function, they are only pressure fit into the hinges on this particular kit, allowing them to fall over if one isn't careful. Not a huge deal, but it can provide some annoyance.  Still, I'm quite happy with them!
